We took this camper to the Grand Canyon and had a blast. It was great not having to worry about the mileage or the generator time being used. It was very easy to drive and comfortable. The owner was great, and very helpful! Would recommend to anybody thinking about doing it!
I am in love with this van, to the point I will be jealous when I see it leave with others on road trips. We really enjoyed the freedom of being able to park in normal parking spaces and maneuverability of the short wheel base. We camped in all weather... snow , rain and desert heat and felt comfortable the whole time. The high profile was more challenging to drive in high winds but loved being able to stand up inside the van. Simple Camper sets this van up with almost everything you need to hit the road. We loved the basic design of this van. The huge garage area under the bed was perfect to fit our mountain bikes, an extra battery, cooler and extra gear. We were truly living off the grid and it felt great to get away from the daily grind. Just know if I see you on the road, I will be jealous. ENJOY THE ADVENTURE!!!
We had a great time on our trip. Renting a nice, new, camper made so many things easier on a multi-day road trip. Jason, our renter, was nice and seemed very capable. The camper really did have everything one could need for a camper road trip. All we needed to supply ourselves was clothes, personal effects, food and ice. I did suggest to Jason that he make the blankets and sheets optional, because we wanted to bring our own bedding leading to the supplied bedding being in the way. Crucially, though, our camper was rented with unlimited driving miles and, compaired to some other dealers, this saved us money$$The biggest downside I would point out the the extra time taken up by picking up and dropping off a rented camper and this eating into precious vacation time.Overall, I would recommend this site to someone, like me, thinking about possibly perchasing a camper or RV in the future and want to experiment first. This was a 5 day rural trip for us. We enjoy overlanding and backpacking. This was our 4th van rental and the favorite and best value. We find we like a robust vehicle with a simpler interior, that has all the basics, but not packed with less useful amenities. The Simple Camper RAM Van was super clean, simply equipped, and very, very comfortable. The vehicle was easy to drive. It had the power we needed going on both fire and rural secondary roads and keep up interstate 80 traffic. It handled Quincy - LaPorte road and that steep grade well. We dispersed camped off of fire roads often 1-3 miles from the main road, places I'd take a solid truck but not any kind of car. The van got us there everytime. We were experimenting with working remote on this trip. The team delivered what they promised. The seats do a full 180 turn. Since we do all our cooking outside with our own REI table and 2 burner propane stove, the kitchen was great for prep, serving, etc. One morning it was too cold to go out, so we prepped coffee and oatmeal from inside. For us the combo was perfect. The standing desk worked great. The cellular wifi access worked great. It had access to the internet when our phones didn't. It worked great with Teams and Google. It didn't work well with proprietary, high security video sharing. But no problem, we just drove another 30 minutes and found a rural (population 120) church parking lot to park and work from. We even met some of the curious locals who were wondering who we were. (that was fun) The bed & sheets, - very comfortable! It's all that counts.Lost of storage in the back. we had our toys, extra gear, hiking and fishing stuff too. I forgot to ask about a bike rack. They have them too.And the service, from Jason, was top notch. You can tell he has done this before and really likes it. He was excellent at the reminders. Prompt with the follow-thru and once on the road, though we knew he was available, we only heard from him the day of arrival. Simple Vans will be a do again. We may try one of the Simple Camper Sprinter models for a longer interstate road trip, but the Simple Camper Ram Van is great for getting away, being in nature and leaving the work-a-day world behind!
super awesome experience. will rent again. great company!
We had a great trip exploring all around California! We took the 395 down and came back up highway 1. The van had way more amenities than we expected and was very spacious. It was very comfortable and our dog loved it too. We miss it already and would love to do this again!
Wow! We had fantastic time, the Camper so easy to drive, even my two daughters enjoy driving it, actually they are my driver and DJ, I just buckle up sit in the back enjoy the view. Jason is a great host, he drop off and pick the camper up, I know he has no obligation to do it, even though we live very close to each other. This is our first time mother and daughters road trip, if we had chance to do it again, we definitely will use this Camper. Susan, Megan and Michelle
We appreciated Jason’s hospitality and the fact that the van was equipped with the necessities we needed to get going on our adventure right away.
We are already planning for our next rental! Loved everything from the stocked camping cooking gear, to the string lights, everything you’d need! As beginners, it definitely was “simple”. Jason and his team made it super easy to pick up and drop off.
It was super easy to communicate trip details in preparation for the trip, and questions about the van that I had while on our trip were quickly answered. Our trip with the van was great. We traveled up the coast on highway 1 to Salt Point State Park. The van was super easy to drive. All amenities needed for camping were provided, including a last minute loan of a Mr. Heater from Bob (who facilitated the van rental, THANKS BOB!). The bed was super comfortable, but the setup and takedown of the bed was less than fun. The van did not have thermal covers for the driver and passenger side windows of the van's cab, so I had to devise some myself for privacy and heat retention.
Awesome experience from start to finish. We had a quick two day trip from the Bay Area to Fallen Leaf Lake near Tahoe with our dog. Driving the van was comfortable and it felt safe the whole way. We reserved a trailer parking spot at Fallen Leaf Campground and our friends met us there and stayed in a tent. The included cooler + stovetop helped us easily cook and eat tasty food the whole time. Since campfires weren't allowed due to fire risk, the 4 of us sat in the van at night comfortably to stay warm and snack. The inside was very spacious with the swivel chairs and the bench seat. The bed was comfortable too, we slept well and woke up refreshed. I wish we could have stayed longer, we will definitely be booking it again soon.
This was our first trip in an adventure van (myself, wife, and our pup) and we loved it. For starters, great customer service. Very friendly and transparent throughout the booking, pickup, and drop off processes. They were also very prompt replying via phone, email, and text. The vehicle was clean and well equipped with everything we needed which was super convenient. Also very flexible on the pickup and drop off times which was awesome as it helped us maximize our rental/use time. The biggest perk was the unlimited miles, that really made us feel free to explore as much as we wanted and make the most of our experience. Will definitely be booking another trip with them!
We had an incredible time renting this camper, would absolutely rent again! Super easy to drive, and it was set up great for us to get camping right away! Jason was a super helpful and communicative van host, we loved working with him.
Jason was great and very easy to deal with. He made the start of our adventure easy and seamless, and when we got back, the return process was fair and easy as well.I would definitely rent with Simple Camper again. Thanks! Dan and Gail
We were first time Sprinter people. We loved it! The vehicle was easy to manage and drive. Didn’t have the feel of a thrashed rental by any means, it’s in great shape. We still love camping but as a single mom it was a nice break to have the beds and inside sleep experience. My kids stayed asleep way longer than usual and we couldn’t hear the noisy people our friends could not help complain about. Storage space was great. You do have to make up and take down the beds to switch from sleep mode to cruising around town mode but it wasn’t as hard as breaking down a tent. Jason and his partner were friendly and super easy to deal with in terms of arrival and departures. Their walk thru was essential and well done. We didn’t end up cooking inside but the supplies they provided would work if you wanted to with maybe a few extra essentials (wine opener, for instance). I would rent from them again for sure! They have a great business model and I’m wishing them the best.
We had an incredible 2-week trip cross country with Mav! Jason and team could not have been better with communicating with us whenever we asked, taking the time to talk with us to make sure we had the best vehicle for our trip. They serviced Mav right before we went, and we had zero issues through the trip - from flat 1-80 even through a snow storm in the Rockies. She ran beautifully, reliably and was exactly what we needed for our journey. We loved our trip with Simple Camper and cannot wait to go out on our next adventure!
The RV was exactly what we were looking for. Simple, with all of the essentials like 2 beds, sink, camper stove, etc... But also very impressed with the nice additions they provided like foldable chairs, pans, mugs and kitchen utensils and even wifi. They were very responsive and really nice to rent from. Can't wait to do another road trip through this company soon!
The van was spotless, contained everything we needed, and was so comfortable to sleep in after a long day of driving. We hadn't rented this type of can before. We loved it and can't wait to rent from them again. Highly recommend these folks who made it all easy, safe, and fun!
Jason was absolutely the best with the van rental experience. He was so helpful through our entire trip - from pick up to drop off. The van was outfitted perfectly and our overall customer experience resulted in one of the best southwest national parks trips ever. Thank you Jason! We will be back for more :). Highly recommend!!!
Awesome! Used it as a SAG wagon for a bike ride from mt shasta to the Pacific ocean. Camped in it for four wonderful nights!
