Jason made renting this awesome campervan so easy! It was the perfect size to drive to Big Sur. It had everything we needed for a perfect trip. We will definitely rent from Jason/Simple Camper again.
Jason's Camper Van from the company Hymer - model Sonne (means 'sun') is amazing -- this is the way to camp ! I was at beautiful Clear Lake in CA. It was hot , so having the air condition was great. At night it was cold so I could turn on the heater for a few minutes in the morning which was appreciated !I have been using this over the holiday weekend as mobile office -- had to work but wanted to get out ! satellite Wifi is included - so I did a couple of zoom calls for work. It is spacious and very comforting inside with many fun features (sink with cold or warm running water, fresh water tank, and a toilet !), outlets to charge all kinds of electronic devices (powered by the strong battery system) - or one can plug in (30 Amp). The camper drives so nicely - like a regular car, which is very fun !This is a wonderful car.
Jason and Bob were very responsive with our needs and made it easy for us to enjoy our first ever camping trip in a van. The Lux van was fun, comfortable and easy to drive. It is an awesome experience being able to cook, sleep and shower all within 18 ft, in the middle of nature. If you are on the fence, go for it!
Great communication. Van was as advertised. Great process and great trip.
The company, Simple Camper, was very communicative, helpful and professional. The daily mileage allowed of 250 miles per day allowed us to take a trip to the Grand Canyon, camping along the way. The camper itself, however, the Hymer Sonne, was not a good fit for our needs. It was too small for two taller people and my 6'2" husband had to sleep in a tent, although we did know this going into the trip. We never used the shower as we were staying at campgrounds that had bathrooms and showers available, so we really found the shower (and the microwave) to be wasted space. The automatic steps that open when you open the door stopped working early in the trip, luckily we had brought a stepstool. The camper ran very well and was easily maneuvered. It has Sirius XM so we listened to 80s music for eight days. It was equipped with pots and pans, dishes, and a small propane stove that we used rather than using the inside cooktop, which required hookups in order to avoid draining the battery. The toilet had been swapped out for a porta-pottie version prior to our trip which was a little inconvenient. Apparently the camper was on consignment and the actual owner had installed an Airtag that tracked our trip - this showed up on my iPhone daily and kind of gave me the creeps. We brought our own bike rack which hooked into the trailer hitch and worked well. All in all, it was our first experience with an RV/camper of any type and next time we would choose a larger van with different equipment, but we would definitely rent from Simple Camper again although I would request no GPS tracking.
Jason and the Simple Camper team made my solo road trip experience absolute perfection. This baby is tricked out beyond belief AND is simple to use for even those of us most novice campers. There were a couple times I had trouble remembering how something worked but they quickly responded even providing me with an info-graphic that explained everything. I look forward to renting from Simple Camper again for my next adventure.
